I had an MRI recently. I usually don't pay anything for them if I go to a certain clinic. I went to that clinic. They estimated I'd owe nothing again. Great. Went ahead with the MRI. They sent me a bill for almost $1k and insurance told me that was correct. They can't tell me why I've never had to pay anything for an MRI before. They're claiming each MRI, CT, etc for the last 5 or 6 YEARS (there's been a lot of them, especially when you include my husband) was processed incorrectly.
So my lesson is when a doc says I "need" this or that test, I have to decide if I'm possibly dying. I'm not a fucking doctor, but I have to decide that. If I think I'm *probably* not dying, nope. No tests.

Stay well folks, because not only is the country's healthcare payor systems screwed up, but it's for sure healthcare personnel are burned out and leaving mass exodus. Not a place any of us want to be. But a place we all are likely going.
