Yeah, ummmm.. I don't think the husband is getting to work. He's stuck at the end of the driveway. Not only do our neighborhood streets not get plowed, but there is ice under the snow where the driveway meets the street.
Update: He called his boss.. as of now, he's still expected to make the 30 minute (under normal conditions) commute even as VDOT is asking people not to drive because they are finding abandoned cars everywhere and the windchill is currently -5°F. 🙄 https://counter.social/media/NH68kT7KwVOQ1PGQA7M
@ChippySuave ಠ_ಠ This is why we can’t have nice things.
@ChippySuave don’t get me wrong... if hubs does important shit, he oughta try. But my definition of important includes planning: employers creating a contingency setup that keeps staff onsite comfortably and pays them.
@D2 You would think, hunh! He's not in a job of first responding or where the world will stop without him.. He was even expected to work until mere hours before a hurricane hit (had to prep the business, not his home). Companies in general are ridiculous.
@ChippySuave this is a dangerous storm. Be careful and his boss is a numbnut
@ChippySuave that’s insane
@ChippySuave Some things make me appreciate the telecommuting lifestyle more than ever.
@ChippySuave It is so not worth the risk! Tell him to stay home
