@th3j35t3r I moved from a city where ambulance rides were free back to my hometown, closer to my mom. My mom had two separate ambulance rides to the ER last month. One ride billed insurance $4K, the other billed $6K. The hospital is 2 miles from her home. However, because this small city does not have enough ambulances, the responding teams were from outside the area.

Don't even ask about her three week stay.

Thank goodness her Medicare picked up the cost.

@ChippySuave @th3j35t3r back in the old stone age, i was an ambulance attendant (EMTs didn't yet exist). our rate was $35 + $5 per mile.
