After more than a century as Fort Bragg (North Carolina), the Army's largest base by population becomes Fort Liberty Friday. Bragg is among nine army bases that are dropping the names of Confederate leaders.

Though Fort Liberty is named for an ideal, not a person.

I'm very happy the base stopped honoring Confederate general Braxton Bragg.

I was hoping the bases would be named after CMOH recipients, but Fort Liberty is okay with me.
