This made me think of the "training" I had growing up, taught through the generations, that a lady never leaves the house without lipstick on. Yes, I still follow that rule.
@ChippySuave my mom used to say that to me, too! ofc, when i was in high school, i wasn't allowed to wear lipstick. but once i was an adult, couldn't leave the house w/o it. i embarrassed her when i took her on errands w/o lipstick on. i told her i'd sit in the car but she needed my help in the store. oh, the things we do for our moms.
