@CJLavoie Similarly, I read about a musician who wrote beautiful music and lyrics while depressed. He said it was the worst to get on stage and perform night after night because it just reinforced the negativity. He got to the point he feared for his own life.
He has since changed his direction and won't play the older stuff anymore. (Please don't ask who the musician is because I don't remember.)
Takes a lifetime to really master this.
@LnzyHou Certainly.. I'm 54 and haven't yet. But I also never thought of it in this way before. Perhaps knowing this perspective can help change my thoughts.
@ChippySuave I watched Hannah Gadsby standup, and she tells that she's not doing self-deprecating "humor" anymore, not just because it's basically harmful to herself, but also to anyone who identifies with her. (I'm paraphrasing - she has a way with words that really described it to a tee.)
