I can't believe an intelligent person in this day and age couldn't see this coming a mile away. These companies don't pay for content. Why should they when they have millions of...users...giving them content for nothing.

@Cdn_Skeptic_Wm just b/c they don't, doesn't mean they should. they make billions. their valuations are ridiculous. built on the labour & content creation of others.
journalism, actual journalism is at risk. giving it away for free to billionaires is not the answer.
instead of going back, why not push others to do likewise?
i think we need to continue to pressure them. australia did it. now we've done it. i'd 💜 the 🇺🇸,🇪🇺 & 🇬🇧 to follow.
