As a health care worker that spent more than a little time working with older patients, I understand (clinically) how strokes can change someone's personality. And usually not in a pleasant way.
As a daughter, it's still very hard to watch it happen to my own mother.
@BillieBun It also helps me be more patient with her I guess. I'm able to calmly converse with her on her level and resist yelling out things like "WTF who ARE you???"

@CarrieLikesCoffee Yeah, it's entirely different. It does make us more empathetic to others, though..
