NEWFLASH: In a fit of boredom with Trump, the UK Government has decided to get an agreement on Brexit, and obsess over something else for a change.

My Father was a Prisoner of War in World War II. Captured in North Africa, taken to Stalag 4c, in the Czech Republic. A Driver in the Royal Army Service Corps, he was a part of the Cyprus Regiment.

He never spoke much of his service, other than to sometimes say he'd eaten grass through hunger, and had seen comrades blown up.

It was shortly after he passed in 2008, that I learnt he actually escaped from the Stalag, some 3 days before the end of the War. Lost, the Red Army found him & told him.
