An H5N1 influenza pandemic under someone like TFG (read: horrifically mismanaged) would be catastrophic. And probably the end of their regime.
H5N1 is *extremely* lethal - with a recorded human fatality rate of over 50%.
You can't afford to mismanage a pathogen that lethal the way COVID was mismanaged; that's the kind of mistake that wipes out entire towns, destroys any semblance of order, & topples nations.
There are rapidly increasing warning signs that an H5N1 pandemic may be on its way.

@IrelandTorin the “good news” is there is already an approved vaccine for human H5N1. The bad news is it is not commercially available, it is in government stockpiles. Also it is a two dose course so compliance will have be an issue.
@CanisPundit There is, but as I understand it influenza has a particular "talent" for rapidly changing its antigens under evolutionary pressures, so the efficacy of any given vaccine is liable to be somewhat limited and decline extremely rapidly if lots of vaccinated people are being exposed to the virus.
Like would occur in a pandemic situation.
AFAIK SARS-CoV-2 has a much lower rate of antigen change than influenza, yet vaccine manufacturers STILL couldn't update them fast enough.
