It’s that time of year again in which I have to correct the record: 1) Frankenstein is the sir name of the doctor who created the monster, not the name of the monster and 2) Frankenstein’s monster (see, that was easy) is not green. This is a misunderstanding of color stills of Boris Karloff in green makeup which was used to give Frankenstein’s monster (still an easy distinction) a paler corpse-like appearance in the B&W (really shades of grey) movie compared to the other characters.
@CanisPundit Fun note: In "The Munsters," Fred Gwynne's makeup was purple for the same reason.
Other fun note, for those who don't know:
The original story was written in 1816 as part of a parlor game and titled "Frankenstein, or, the Modern Prometheus," and can be argued to have been the first true science fiction story. In the original story, the monster speaks quite eloquently.
Last: Boris Karloff voiced the Grinch and narrated the animated story of "How the Grinch Stole Christmas."
