Pretty sure such a hypothetical president would not remain in power by using an executive order, they would do it by refusing to leave or eliminating their opponent, and then saying "nyah nyah, you have to stop me".
If the people around them let them, that can happen. If they issue an order and it's followed, it gets followed. The law isn't going to fly down from heaven and stop them.

@Charles_Hawtrey @CanisPundit @HopeSeeker @LiberalLibrarian Sure. Someone goes and gets them and makes them stop. That's typically how it happens. And when someone does something bad and you don't make them stop, they keep doing it as long as they feel like it.

My wife is from Lima, Peru, politically it's not too good over there either but I'm starting to think about getting out of Dodge again. I lived there for a few years and at least I'm less stressed over there. I can watch the chaos here from the other side of the world.
