Some anecdotal reports of cigarette smoking inducing coughing that led to clearing sputum. Do you have a link for research results Satan? Unexpected results do happen. Some people get a paradoxical response to diphenhydramine similar to taking an amphetamine.

@CanisPundit Ironically, nicotine can reduce asthma symptoms for some people. Unfortunately, everything else in cigarettes makes your breathing worse.
