Today's curiosity question:
TFG's fourth-grade level logorrhea has made popular a certain class of phrase often called 'sales talk." It's a pattern I find highly offensive, and one which is now being mirrored by most Republican talking heads.

Several times a day, I hear claims that start with "Everyone is saying that..." or "As you are no doubt aware..." or "As we all know..."

Is there a psychological term for this pattern? I've looked and cannot find anything. Perhaps presumptuous projection?

@codeWhisperer in Neurolinguistic Programming (NLP) it’s referred to as embedded commands used to subtly influence people. Often these statements lead others to draw an intended conclusion. The patterns can be effective whether used for good or ill intent. A good person like you @codeWhisperer are smart enough to see how that works can you not?

Tony Robbins commercialized NLP and other psychology related concepts.
