So, here’s a reality check: the Democratic Party has a major marketing and PR problem that we seem to constantly ignore, choosing to bury our heads in the sand. From failing to properly hit our opposition on their economic weaknesses, to the failures of allowing the phrase “defund the police” to take root, we’ve allowed narratives to be controlled by far right agitators who know how to incense not only their base, but also appeal to NPA’s and centrist Dems. It’s killing us.

i'm not looking to start a fight. just wanted to ask why you felt that was an issue for the democratic party? it's about police reform & addressing police brutality. you don't think the d's should be addressing this? or you think it's a bad phrase of marketing? or???

@singlemaltgirl I agree with the general premise of reallocating funds towards services that help people (mental health crisis response teams as an example): my issue is with the literal wording, because it doesn’t accurately convey the message, and it has become fodder for anti-Dem sentiments.
