If you're finding the desktop UI overwhelming, you can shut off columns and/or switch to #OstrichMode from your preferences in Edit Profile. But the phone app is just one thing at a time, so can be MUCH easier to handle as you get used to here! π

Gifs aren't integrated into the platform, so if, like me, you came to rely on them HEAVILY (and automatically) on π¦, you'll want to download your faves to have available to attach when you want to use them. I find tenor gifs work better than giphy for some reason? π€·ββοΈ

When CoSo adds a SLEW of new users in a short time (something like +55k in the last 3 weeks?) it can bonk from time to time, but usually resolves fairly quickly.
Basically, just go get a refreshment or play with a pet for a few minutes (or a little longer sometimes) & check back later. I'm assured that when #Twitter was much younger, the FailWhale was a thing (and, who knows, may be soon again!)
