We used to say Democrats fall in love; Republicans fall in line. Not any more. The scramble for the Speaker seat is riveting.

Democrats *could* take advantage of the situation as Carville says and vote as a block to put a Democrat in the Speaker seat of a majority Republican House. But we've never shown that kind of unity.

I'm really stuck on this idea and it's all @Maude's fault if you get tired of hearing about it. 😆

@BrazenlyLiberal @Maude I really like the idea of the Dems pushing Cheney for speaker if we lose the house. No, I wouldn't vote for her if my house were on fire, but it would keep the Jan 6th Committee alive and if we don't have the majority then she's the least bad option. It would give her credibility if she runs for POTUS in 2024 tho. Definitely a consideration.
