Listen to yourself, Senator:
Your statement says, "playing chicken with the full faith and credit of the United States is irresponsible". You are dead-on correct there, and you should take those words to heart.
But instead, you go ludicrously off the rails after that, with "Both sides need to come together, put down the partisan talking points, and discuss realistic solutions to prevent default." This is utter nonesense. The full faith and credit of the U.S. Government is NOT up for negotiation; you said it yourself! There is no room for arbitration on this. Get yourself in that room and make it clear that we aren't talking because there is nothing to discuss. .

Get your helpful and influential friends on Wall Street to release statements of their own decrying the lunacy of going into default. Have them put the pressure on McCarthy to bring a clean increase to vote in the house. It will pass, because there are at least 5 Republican Congressmen who know this is NOT a game and we ALL lose if you keep pulling this crap.
If you are not willing to lead toward sanity here, please quit so we can get someone in who will.
