"Science" invests no more effort in attempting to "prove" God exists than it does attempting to "prove" that Nickelback is a decent band.

To the best of my knowledge, no one has come up with an experiment that could prove or disprove the existence of any god. But then no one has shown that one or more gods are an hypothesis that would help explain anything. It's up there next to the definition of "unfalsifiable."
