I stopped freelance editing when a published historical fiction author used AI to write her book. How did I know? 90% of the historical references were wrong. I was hired to help with final edits, not to correct all the historical mistakes she made from her lack of research.

I left the project when she said to me, 'can't we aim for creating a parallel universe'? She wanted me to help her make things work. She needed a different type of editor for that, not me.
