For his official #NASA portrait in 2008, astronaut Leland Melvin decided to include his rescue dogs, Jake and Scout, in his pic, even though dogs weren't allowed on base.

He sneaked them into the photo lab using his van. To keep the dogs quiet during his change into the orange suit, Melvin used 100 MilkBones.

This memorable photo happened when the dogs were released and they excitedly ran towards him.
