On 9/11 the FDNY lost 343 souls. In the years that followed, many firefighters volunteered to go through the rubble @ Ground Zero to recover human remains. In subsequent years those FDNY firefighters began getting sick with rare multiple cancers from exposure to chemical fires that burned at Ground Zero for weeks.

Since 9/11 the FDNY has lost 360 firefighters who died from those diseases. Today we sent off, 1 more to join Heaven's Crew. Capt'n D, May you rest in peace and health & Thank you!
