#Scotus Presidential Immunity Hearing
Justice Sotomayor questioning Trump's Attorney about parameters and possible scenarios
Sotomayor: What is plausible... the president creating a fraudulent slate of electoral candidates? Is that plausible... that would be within his right to do?
Sauer: Absolutely
@NotoriousEPS YES!
I'd like to hear if Sauer thinks it legitimate for a President to have all the actual electors' certificates stolen, shredded, and replaced with counterfeit ones.
@mcfate He said yes to many of the fascist hypotheticals SCOTUS members proposed, so he'd probably say yes to that too.
They should have asked. I'm pretty sure he didn't actually help his case with any of that stuff.
His client has sort of obligated him to take the position of "He could shoot up a bus full of kindergarteners and nuns, and no one could prosecute him for it", but I consider it doubtful the court would go along with such a view in the end.
@Bliss So they are testifying in response to Sotomayor's questioning, that the president should have the absolute power to fake elections and keep power for themselves or others. They're basically arguing that the president has all the powers of a dictator, and can do whatever they want.
I see.
And that is before a court made up primarily of arch-conservatives who take bribes. This should end well.
@Bliss Uncle Joe needs to get on it…
