I’m not saying Elon can’t do this, far from it actually. If he wants to behave this way, fine, it’s his playground.
But for someone who is a free speech absolutist…..it’s rings hallow. It was clearly all a massive lie.

It's the hypocrisy. The insanity, illogic and narcissism. The bloated, rotting arrogance of a rich tech bro on full display.
I have a friend who was a Musk groupie. She loved him, he was brilliant, a visionary, blah blah blah. Over Thanksgiving she admitted that, with Twitter, he'd shown his true self and now he horrified her.
The hilarious part is that if he just kept his mouth shut and did minor changes he would have been successful.
He could have probably even sold that Twitter subscription by just being honest that he needs cash. I’m sure his cult would gladly hand him fistfuls to keep twitter running.
But hah, he let the Nazis and the bigots run free. He insulted everyone who wasn’t a conservative. Including the advertising he needs to stay afloat.
The whole situation is just sad…
