One of the things I'm wondering is who would be happy about this? This exact scenario must be precisely what many US citizens (and non US citizens) want. And whoever's running the media, too. Jeeze. WTF people. 😟
@janallmac @Bix The ultra wealthy would be perfectly happy if the rest of us never voted again and were basically chattel for them. News orgs don’t care if they become propaganda machines because they aren’t owned by journalists. They just want to make money.
@Bix Yes. Do not believe for one minute that the "of the people part" can't be compromised. Republicans want certain chambers (the ones they control) to choose the president and to take you, the voter, out of the equation. Then there will be much PR to make it all still sound very fair although they'd probably retire the term democratic.
@Bix Yes, I just saw someone argue on Instagram that a dictatorship can’t happen in the USA. They’re either an operative or terribly naïve. J6 anyone? Compromised SCOTUS, anybody? Obstructionist Republican Congressmen and Senators?
