Some tracks are homages to Joy Div.
@InUnfunky @Bix “Concourse Oddities and Curiosities” is a cumbersome name, I just say “CoSo”.
@InUnfunky @Bix
I went in 92 and the line up was a little different but no less than amazing. I wish I remembered it a little more clearly.
@InUnfunky @Bix
Now I can't remember which year but I'm pretty sure it was 92. Almost died in the pit during Pearl Jam's set. Lost my shoes
@InUnfunky @Bix
Security had to lift me out because I was being trampled
Whoa. Talk about a nasty pit - this in itself could easily be a standalone topic. Thank goodness staff got you out in one piece. In the D.C. - Baltimore corridor, SOP was for moshers to keep an eye out for anyone in trouble.
SOP indeed; was kind've a rule in most punk/alternative communities...cuz it didn't take too many assholes to spoil the fun, particularly club shows.
Lollas were another huge kettle of fish -- I stayed on the periphery in those. Sorry that was your experience, Sarah. 😔
Of course, at club shows it was possible to see "Exit" signs and extricate yourself from the vortex...cuz small.
OTOH arenas and Lollas (usually at fairgrounds); some pits at the latter were breathtaking in size and ferocity.
Much to Bixie's chagrin, Fishbone even did a song about the mosh -- inspired by a Keenen Ivory Wayans standup --which produced (during their set at Lolla '93) the single largest pit I had/have ever seen.

I saw Pearl Jam in Orlando at a club show right after 10 came out. Lost my shoes. Pearl Jam owes me a pair of shoes
Caught PJ at a small club in St. Pete (Jannus Landing) in April ‘92 right as they got back from Europe and “10” was blowing up. Yes, Eddie climbed the tent pole and dove off.
Jannus is a GREAT place to see a show — saw Living Colour, PJ, Alice In Chains, PFunk All-Stars, Helmet, Fishbone (2x) and Bad Brains there between ‘89-‘95.
Never lost my shoes. 😏
@fugitive247 @InUnfunky @Bix
I was terrified but I did it knowing how bad it can get
@InUnfunky @Bix
Yes, I was and I do remember that! I also saw them at a club in Orlando but I can't remember the name. They had a sister club in Ft Lauderdale where I saw Alice in chains
@InUnfunky @Bix
I just remembered! It was called The Edge.
@InUnfunky @Bix
I don't remember much about them but I was 26 and drinking heavily. It was great though. Screaming Trees opened for Alice in chains
@InUnfunky @Bix
This is the one because I know Gruntruck was there as well but I don't remember the crutches so it's possible he had the accident in Florida

The above group started as a band playing industrial music. The Factory's Martin Hannett opened this door. I like it, the band is trying to be a bit different for that time:
