@Lulz4l1f3 YEP, it is why GM's EV-1 was only available in AZ & SoCal.
EVs have buttons or an app option to "tell" the car that they're heading to a charging station & the car then preconditions the battery for a charge by warming it. It should definitely be mentioned to buyers, but if they bought the car in the summer, it's easy to forget.
Or they could just read the manual.
@Bix Anybody who has dealt with batteries and extreme cold could have told them that would happen.
