Just a quick few pics to show my current sewing projects. The first (and furthest along) is what I'm calling a #KyivSleighCoat.

3) Well, everything went together as planned. I need to add a little ease into the pattern at bust level, but all the seams matched up (though I was worried a little bit about the collar /back of neck seam)

2) well, so far the parts are going together well. The shawl collar seems like it will work out.

Day 3 of Covid recovery, sewed the new brass buttons on the 1930's Barnstormer's coat.

To keep the thread from pulling through the leather, I use a smaller button on the inside to spread the stress, and to allow a longer shank for the thickness I use a fid between the stitches to keep the buttons pulling to close, or into the coat.

This is interesting detail on the middle front button on the right hand side of the coat, it's fastened on with a type of rivet, possibly because this is a high stress point.
