Is Florida really that red or is it just gerrymandered in the GOP's favor so well right now that if an independent committee were to draw maps it would be back to a swing state?

I’m thinking it’s that red. The races weren’t close.

@Beerdini some areas probably red but I think there's probably a lot of cheating as well

@Beerdini I think it really is that red. People move there specifically for the lifestyle that the far right espouses. The population over time just continues to move in that direction. Gerrymandering certain reinforces that, but I think it is truly a reflection of who they are as a state in general terms. I think Dems would be smart not to throw so much time and money at it in the future.

@Beerdini I think it’s both gerrymandered and that red. Ohio is very similar.

@Beerdini - in the last census, there was enough population increase to justify a new district. So the map had to be redrawn. DeS rejected the one that was drawn by the legislature and pushed thru his own, which highly favored his Party. In Fl, the governor can do that. And since he COULD, he DID.
