Texas’ education board voted today to allow Bible-infused teachings in elementary schools, joining other Republican-led states that pushed this year to give religion a larger presence in public classrooms.
Not just "religion" but a very specific religion: American Protestant fundamentalist Christianity.
This is contrary to the First Amendment forbidding an establishment of religion, but with a Supreme Court that refuses to understand what Jefferson and Madison thought on this subject, likely nothing will be done.
