How Cool!
@Armchaircouch While I did read The Hobbit before I read the ring trilogy I only read The Hobbit once, I’ve read the trilogy multiple times, at least 7-8 times. So definitely read The Hobbit, there are stories in that book you’ll need for the trilogy, but you only need to read it once, after that you can read the trilogy as many times as you wish without rereading The Hobbit.
The Hobbit is a good book though so be sure to enjoy.
@Armchaircouch 🍀 🍀 🍀 It is a journey through all the volumes. I started with the Hobbit. It had enough to get me through the third book which was difficult for me.
Ok I guess I will read The Hobbit first, per naut advisement, lol so I’m putting LOTR aside and I’m moving onto this book called Saving Fish from Drowning, by Amy Tan, who wrote The Joy Luck Club!
I haven’t read that either. However, I watched Amy Tan’s series on Masterclass and the work she has put into being a writer, and everything she taught in that class was life-changing, so I’m looking forward to reading this book!
