@BetweenYellowLines There are people who want and need things to be simple, but that doesn't make things simple. I think it could be simple to just accept others, pronouns and all. We don't have to understand it to just accept it.
The opposite of woke is asleep or snoozing or dozing, not fully aware. I prefer being woke to not being fully aware. We used to refer to it as having our consciousness raised. And when that happens, life gets more complicated. I can't go back to simple.
@BetweenYellowLinesBack then, there were quite a few people who thought it was a joke that anyone preferred the words "women and men" to "men" when talking about all of us. Some of us didn't want to settle for simple.
There is no reason for anyone not to choose the pronouns they prefer instead of the pronouns you choose for them just so you can have comfortable simplicity.
@BetweenYellowLines I was more verbose than this site allows, so I had to split my response into more than one post. Here's more of it.
Back in the day, we girls were told that it when some written work said "men" we shouldn't necessarily take it literally. It often meant "men and woman." Today, I noticed that people write and say "men and women" or "women and men." Woke.
