Starting my Saturday with coffee and reading up on replacing my range hood. The thing is a good 40 years old, doesn't match, and the light hasn't worked in a long time. That kind of personal restlessness that makes small home projects good for my brain.

@ArcturusSaDiablo If you have an assistant you'll enjoy the job more. An extra set of hands is awesome for overhead, hold it up there for marking, mounting and wire connection jobs.

Yeah, that's what I'm seeing in a lot of the content I'm reviewing. I might consider hiring a trusted service (yes, I have one) to do the install. Last thing I want to do is destroy my very expensive induction range top. They are good, always done right for me, and will install customer-purchased equipment.

@ArcturusSaDiablo If you do it or a pro and you have an old comforter, memory foam or equivalent cover the cook top for accidental whoopises.

@MidnightRider
Yup, that's the plan. I have microfiber blankets to put down.

@ArcturusSaDiablo It's really a simple job as you already have power run to the source. If you have a meter, confirm the breaker that kills power to the hood, that will help a lot.
