Everyone's screaming about how "voting blue" will solve all of our problems, and the DNC is all over this. They are the savior to women everywhere.
Oh, btw, the DNC in Texas is backing the forced-birth male Dem candidate over the pro-choice woman in the primaries.
Yeah, vote blue. I mean, it's the only alternative to tfg. But please don't think that the Dems will solve this. In 50 years, they've done NOTHING to codify Roe. Let's not pretend they're not also the problem.
@San_Ban First of all, they should have gotten control of the message from the start by presenting abortion for what it is, healthcare, rather than acting like they were ashamed to even say the word. They needed to normalize it, and they did the opposite.
Secondly, they should have started working to codify it the second they realized that the right was gunning for it. They decades to do this, but failed.
@April_Z When you say "codify" it, do you mean pass a federal law? When has there been a majority of pro-abortion rights House, Senate and President that could have done that? And how would such a law have withstood challenges before this Court?
@San_Ban The same way the GOP does it - we actually DO the thing rather than wringing our hands about all the roadblocks, then fight like hell for it.
Dems talk themselves out of doing the right thing all. the. damn. time. They really need to stop doing that.
@April_Z DNC in a national committee not in any states, but they do back State Dem parties and usually only promote a few high profile candidates in the states running or Gov or Senate with so many thousands of candidates nationwide they don't have the ability to promote every single D candidate. All D candidates I have seen promoted by the DNC and the Texas Democratic party are very vocal pro- choice candidates.
@BarrySensa Thanks for the DNC clarification. The candidates I'm referring are in Texas 28.
@April_Z Ugh not a fan of Cuellar at all I have seen a lot of promoting for Jessica not any for him, but I don't live in that district so I have not researched who provided funding for either candidate. If I lived in that district I would vote for Jessica. I have done some promoting for her on social media Cuellar is too much like Manchin for me never know when he is going to side with GOP.
@April_Z DNC and state parties do tend to favor backing Dem candidates they think have the best chance of winning if it is in a district they fear a republican candidate might win. They don't always get that right though sometimes we lose the seat anyway, and sometimes a D challenger does win. I just read he does have a few pro choice high profile D legislators promoting him hoping they got it wrong this time and the pro choice D candidate wins and we don't lose the seat to a GOP candidate.
@April_Z What do you think the Dems should or could have done in the last 50 yeats to codify Roe that would have prevented this (all but certain) outcome?
