Our one chance to move into a home of our own, which we hope to buy rather than rent, depended on saving enough money for a down payment, inspection closing costs, and other fees. Unfortunately, since the unforeseen death of my boyfriend's mother resulted in us having to dip into our savings to cover some funeral expenses, and our rent more than doubling, we have been unable to save anything since then.
Wwe unexpectedly inherited a car which we hoped to sell, but it took months to get the paperwork all ready. Now, instead of $8k, the car will be lucky to be sold for half that.
