The thing that currently sucks about season 2 of #PersonOfInterest is that I was really enjoying the season 1 for specific reasons ... and season 2 now focuses on #AmyAcker's character Root ... but I don't give a shit about her character at all. She has no depth, her motivations are empty, all we know is she wants access to the machine and we have to deal with her faux-crazy nonsense every episode. She's now the sole focus and the show sucks now and I think she's in the next 3 seasons 😭
She gets better. Hang in there. They will also introduce one more character and she's even better still.
@Animeraider I can't imagine how such a shallow character could get any better but it's currently our workout show so I'll deal ... I just don't like her at all and there is zero reason for her to even exist. The show as great how it was ... I liked each case and the relationship between John and Finch and how that was growing between them. I liked the slow build and the machine mystery. She just killed Alicia for NO REASON and we didn't even know what Alicia was even doing in the show ...
@thewebrecluse
I stuck it out becaue I like the actress - she can change gears with no notice and you're right: the character is hyper violent (she is a bit nutso, after all) for no reason, but when the payoff for this story arc comes they do go back to paying attention to Carter, Lionel and the rest.
Stick it out for Lionel's arc. It's by far the best in the show but it takes time to get there.
@thewebrecluse @IronButterfly Fair enough. I like the show, but everyone is different and that's cool.
@Animeraider absolutely media is subjective. I watch TV for different reasons than most people so I look to get different things out of it. Workout shows are just that ... just distractions and noise but still has to be watchable and interesting. It was really interesting and had my attention first season but not so much now. I'm also not a fan of Caviezel so that makes it hard as well. I'll stick it out because I need a workout show but I wouldn't watch it otherwise.
@Animeraider ❤️ understood.
I call them workout shows because it's just something for @IronButterfly and I to watch while on the rower or the Peloton or the Aeroski. I don't tend to put much focus into them, they're just noise. But if they suck then they can make workouts feels even SLOWER and more TEDIOUS which I can't stand. I like to at least be mildly entertained so I don't think about the exercise.
I do like the core group (though I know Taraji leaves because she's miserable).
