Am I mis-remembering things or can Katy Perry actually sing? I seem to recall that she can actually sing, and sing well.
Been working my way through her new album, and aside from it being, well, dull for the most part, she is auto-tuned on nealy every note.
This may be a production choice, but I am of the very strong opinion that singers should sing.
I'm only a decent singer but I've never used auto-tune, and never will.
@Animeraider 100% with you on that. If I hear any auto tune That's the last time I'll ever listen to that person.
@NorthernInvader Autotune can be used to decent effect. The backing vocals on Lenny Kravitz's "Get Away" are autotuned, and they work.
But it needs to be used with great restraint. It's become a crutch for people who don't want to do a second take.
@Animeraider If I can tell that autotune is being used for any reason I'm completely turned off.
