But LDS went with Kyrsten Sinema over Martha McSally in 2018 and helped put several Democrats into office in 2022.

Trump lost in 2020. He needs to improve his numbers, and losing even a small percent of a block of reliable voters is going to make a difference. I doubt the GOP will lose Utah this year, but as there are more and more stories of women dying because they were denied care for routine miscarriages -- when the doctor can go to jail if the fetus dies, but not if the mother dies -- well LDS families have a lot of reason to worry about pregnancy complication care.

I know a ton of Catholic women who don't support abortion but who have seen it made obvious that trying to use the criminal courts to stop it is a terrible idea.

Do they support abortion? Whether it could affect them or not isn't always the defining factor, unfortunately.
