Fascinating graphic. Share of agriculture that employs people in the US is close to 2-3% yet amount of water going to agriculture in California is close to 75%. Have you seen those signs by the freeway that state cuts to water will lead to higher food prices.

Not really a fair comparison, as the share of people who eat food produced by agriculture is nearly 100%. But we need regulations to encourage wise use, rather than letting farms grow food not suited to the climate, or allowing foreign investors to take water from local residents.

@AlphaCentauri Interesting. "About 16% of US food waste occurs on farms—which means that fresh food is left behind right at its source". As you've stated, agriculture may need to rethink what we all need to consume.
