Cataract surgery - opinions on replacement lens?

Someone I know just had the lenses to correct astigmatism and is very happy, doesn't have to wear glasses except to read. His ophthalmologist doesn't think the lenses that eliminate reading glasses are worth it, though.
@AlphaCentauri Thanks I’m upgrading lenses for astigmatism and distance but not the super pricey ones.

Hubby got the lenses where he can now see far and near.
Loves it.
But was pricey.
