You know, they’ll legislate that cars have to be a certain shape for minimizing pedestrian impact, and must have physical latches on gloves boxes and every mundane thing in between, never once realizing that tall people like me (and I’m not so much of an outlier) can’t see directly in front of me, slightly to the right, because of big stupid rear view mirror assemblies. Put the rear view on a screen on the dash already for fucks sake.

So goddamned dumb.

Oh, it's worse for short people with the big left side view mirror. It's right in the middle of your view.

@AlphaCentauri if they really gave a toss about auto safety, they’d focus on visibility for a wider range of drivers. I understand why A pillars got so huge, but damn they block the view. And low ceilings/rooflines. If I’m first in line at a red light, I have to lean way forward like an old lady driver to see the light change. It’s all just so absurd. An unobstructed view will lead to safer drivers and roads. Duh.
