I will probably make a few people mad at me for saying that I fully support the decision by SCOTUS to end affirmative action for colleges and to allow service providers to refuse service if goes against their values!

Affirmative action for universities began in 2003 and in these 20 years it certainly helped many minority candidates access higher education!

But it was time to end it and base their acceptance on academic merit rather than skin color!

It's not SCOTUS ending a mandate that universities have affirmative action programs.

It's the government now prohibiting private organizations from making private decisions of how they want to craft their incoming classes.

And SCOTUS did NOT prohibit legacy admissions, where children of alumni are given favorable treatment. Since only white people were admitted when the parents and grandparents of those kids graduated, it's essentially affirmative action favoring white people.
