I just tried to sign up for Pro after killing the splash screen. Couldn't find an icon to do so. Had to refresh to get the graphic below.
Recommendation: Insert a "Contribute/Join" icon in the upper/lower left. Maybe make it blink for 10 seconds when you log in?

I didn't have problems, but I do see an unusual number of people posting that they are having some trouble going pro.
