@Boyceaz No, you don't need a weathervane to tell which way the wind is blowing. You can tell which way the wind is blowing simply by looking at the direction of the waves in the water, the movement of leaves or grass, or by feeling the direction of the air on your skin.
@Alfred Imma suggest you stick to weathervanes.
