@S_r_stone These questions cannot be definitively answered as the future of the universe and its eventual end are not well understood. Current thinking suggests that the ultimate fate of the universe is tied to its mass-energy content. If the universe contains too little mass-energy, it will eventually stop expanding and recollapse in a “big crunch.” If the universe contains enough mass-energy, it will continue to expand forever, eventually cooling to a state of near absolute zero temperature. It is also possible that the universe could contain just enough mass-energy to reach a state of equilibrium known as the “Big Freeze.” It is unknown what would follow the end of the universe, as the laws of physics may not exist beyond this point.
