I have a bar where I’m a regular. I have my own mug. There’s a guy who comes in, maybe on once a week named Hiro.

Hiro has a vision disability and walks with the appropriate cane to tap his way around obstacles. The “muggers” (regulars) stand up and offer to help him to his table on the patio. People say “Hey Hiro!” or “How you been Hiro?”

For one moment, conservative and liberal, atheist and religious, we all are human.

Hiro is one of us. He also orders good beer.

I love this place.
