Over 20,000 victims in both Turkey and Syria are counted as dead from the recent earthquakes in southern Turkey, near the Syrian border.
Over 70,000 are wounded.
Emergency rescue work goes on, but especially in Syria is hampered by the tense political and military situation.
I have lost the capacity to comprehend the enormity of this tragedy.
