The 6th Birthday celebrations are over.
Personally, that means I'm now *more* comfortable saying what this place means to me.
It's a little haven. I'm a small social media fish, and I'm entirely happy with that. This place means that the size of the pond doesn't matter. Some of you other fish will follow me, others won't, and that's pretty brilliant. I have no financial incentive to get you to follow me, you have no financial incentive to follow.
That's how social connections should be made
Social connections should be based on things like a willingness to see things from the viewpoints of others and being willing to find common ground.
A caveat there is the whole paradox of intolerance thing, which means that's a fine line to thread.
I don't always agree with the moderation, but one thing I'll say about it that I can't say about other platforms is, I generally trust this place to do right by it's users, because it's the users who make it.
