I haven't seen the flim, I haven't seen Ryan Keira Armstrong's performance in it, but ... it strikes me as a really shit thing to be labelling a 12-year old with an 'award' like this, so fair play to Drew Barrymore for calling it out.

@66ALW99 I don't think any actor should be called out in such a public way. Confidence is so crucial to getting and keeping a job for them and practice is what makes them better. Now, directors? Have at them. LOL
@TrueBloodNet I kinda getcha. There are so many other factors involved other than acting ability. On the other hand, I think there are arguments for calling out people in any careers who do a bad job (though obvs this is pretty subjective).
But to call out a child and give them this kind of label that'll stick with them for life, I think that cuts across the latter argument and presents itself as something that the majority people can agree on without quibbling over details
@66ALW99 I don't think most people need to be called out publicly for bad jobs (except politicians & billionaires.) Most folks have bosses that you can tell who will either train them or fire them. W actors, it's impossible to tell if it's them, if it's the director, producer, writer, other actors, the film editor, sound guy , Covid etc. Its fine to voice opinions to your friends, but no reason to post something in a way to get the actor's attention. Better to talk about the movie in general IMO
