I'm trying to make the world a better place with the few skills I have available to me.
And yet some people just seem to want to complain that the world isn't already a utopia....
It makes me actually angry that they want to bitch about the state of world yet refuse to get off their asses and lift a finger to fix it.
@0x56 I think some people use hopelessness or fatalism as a defense mechanism. "There's nothing I can do" or "It's always been like this, this is the way the world works." It makes feel more okay to do nothing. "If there's nothing you can do, and your contribution won't matter anyway, why stick your head up?"
But one of my favorite sayings is "Will the people saying it can't be done get out of the way of those of us doing it?"
@0x56 I would like to hear more talk about what needs to be done to fix the world, and what sort of world we want to have in the future.
Even if it's just wishing for horses, or fantasy. I wish people would start imagining a better world, and what sort of things would need to change for us to get there.
